They won't screw it up...as long as they take the time to make it good rather than rush it out, like they did with Sonic Chronicles:The Dark Brotherhood. That game could have been SO much better.

yeah it's supposed to be either a hd 3-d 2-d style remake
or a 3-d 2-d style new game

Here are some facts I know, also please don't judge the game based on the choppy animation in this early build.
- It's more of a re-imagining of the old Genesis Sonic games
- This is a start of a new Sonic series and Sonic goes back to his roots with the first game, it's a RESET of the Sonic Series.
- Tails is NOT in the first game
- This is a very early build with choppy animation and everything, the final game will have far superior visuals and animation
- The first game in the series has 10 different worlds with 3 levels in each
- There are 3 difficulty levels, normal, easy and hard, easy is too easy for now
- Sonic has all his moves right from the first game
- The Bubble System from Sonic 3 and Knuckles is back and is here from the first game
