Looks good. But maybe add some pants or something to make it look less like Super Sonic... but that's just my opinion.

I agree with you completely, but the only thing i'd pass is if the clothing helps show their personality (E.g. Lucas xD)

Why not? It gives a sense of originality to the character. I'm thinking about dressing my character in a kimono. O_o

Google is your best friend. The song is okay.

a kimono? a bit too girly to be honest...unless your character is a girl.in Nippon, we generally associate kimonos with girls.
