How did you become a fan of Sonic?

What's YOUR story?

Well, i was 6 and i had an N64 with LOADS of Mario games, i got Sonic Advance 2, Sonic adventure DX and Sonic adventure 2 battle for GC. I gave them to my friend for a day then to give back...he sold them... Mum accidentally threw away Sonic Advance 2 along with 20 other GBA games. Gleech told me about Sonic Zone and i joined, so i got back into sonic =3

Well, I was super young (correct age, I can't remember), and me and my mom were at the mall. And we came across this small rack of Genesis games, just sitting in the middle of the path.
And so I was a Sonic fan ever since.

Here's my story.

To tell you the truth, I started out liking Sonic, but when Knuckles showed up I did a U-turn and started liking him. At this point in time, maybe when I was 9 or 10, I'd play Sonic Shuffle and always choose Knuckles, but I'd start over whenever Sonic or Amy appeared as a computer player. I didn't like either of them at this point. A few more years pass, 12 or 13. I start to warm up to Shadow despite Knuckles being my favorite. Fast foward to present day: I discovered girls! Odd ain't it? I started looking for proof of a couple in Sonic games, which brought me to Sonamy, and thus my personal opinion of both characters went up. I'm always on the lookout now for new proof that Sonic likes Amy, and now my fave char lineup is on a scale of 1 to 10...

Knuckles: 10
Shadow: 9
Sonic: 8
Amy: 6
Tikal: 6
Big: -3

XD Big, well, my story is prettyy simples, when I was a kid my bro had all the genesis games, and, well thats it.

Well me and my Dad went out to the games store when I was 5 or 6 or 7
to buy a new pc game as a reward for me but suddenly I saw a familiar
face, I saw Sonic the Hedgehog on the cover of Sonic Heroes for the pc
and it reminded me of the memories I had on my Sega Genesis because
when I was 4 I used to had a Sega Genesis with Sonic 1 and 2 so I
thought it might be a good game and BAM! The game really kicked butt and
I was really addicted to it, it was the only game I played on those
times and I memorized everyones theme songs since I really liked the
game but too bad it was broken after a year of owning it.

So
after that I researched more about Sonic and became a full Sonic Genius
even though I don't own all Sonic games, I know everything about them
since I'ma true blue Sonic fan.

after watching a load of anime i went a a sugar crazed rampage in my friends house and since i wrecked his genesis he let me borrow his sonic games, fan since then

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Sonic Heroes/Cream.
is there any more need to explain?

since i was little, i had my share of mario games too, but they never really gave me that rush sonic did

I became a Sonic fan back in 1993 when I moved into a new house that didn't have cable TV. I always use to watch the Mario cartoons, but they were on cable so I settled for Sonic. Then I wanted the games, and have been a equal fan of Sonic and Mario since.

I guess you could say Mario got me into Sonic.

idk but anways ,my bo started playing sonic heroes when i was 5 or 6 ,and he went away down stairs so i started to go on it and i enjoyed it ever since

I think I started to be a fan of Sonic back in 1992-93 by accident, months after "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" was released, my older brothers wanted to get a new game system as the NES was pretty much burned out and barely functional anymore, so they bought a Sega Genesis.. I didn't know what to think of a black 3 buttoned controller on its right side, I thought that was strange, I was only 5 and I was hooked on Super Mario Bros. 1-3 at the time.. Back then when you purchase a Sega Genesis you get a Bonus Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game cartridge to play, that is all we had for a game back then until my bros got more games for it.

After my brothers were finally done playing Sonic for awhile.. they like the game but they wasn't so interested in it.. I wait for my turn to play and finally get to play for only 30 minutes until it was time for bed for me.. ..But for the first 30 minutes I played.. I was so amazed I didn't want to put the controller down and found what I liked more than Super Mario, ever since then i have been a big Sonic fan.

Gosh...I can't remember exactly when I was first introduced to Sonic...I was pretty young and probably around the same time as Specc was.
I was 9 when I really started becoming a fan, but I think that before then I remember playing it at a friend's house. But when my parents divorced and my mom moved in with my stepfather...he had a Sega Genesis and Sonic. I already liked Sonic...but I didn't get to play it all that much. So after my mom and I moved in with my now stepfather, I got to play it a lot and really got hooked on it. I also really got into the cartoons. That Christmas, I also got my Tails plushie. That following Valintine's day was when I got my Sonic plushie. It was waiting for me on top of a TV if I remember right. As time went on my obsession with Sonic grew...
I also remember back in the day people thought Sonic Spinball was Sonic 3...they couldn't have been more wrong. And when Sonic and Knuckles came out and I was able to lock on with Sonic 3...you would've needed the jaws of life to pry me away from that screen!
Later on I started collecting the comics...and pretty much anything Sonicy I could find. I even remember they had Sonic trapperkeepers, bubble things like this (Except it got confiscated by my evil 5th grade teacher) , and other cool Sonic stuff. They still didn't have action figures back then though, and at the time I only remember there being Sonic and Tails available for Plushies.
It wasn't until Sonic Adventure came out that I got my first Sonic action figures later on. I still remember saving up for that Dream cast and my dad went halves with me.
So I guess from 9 years old on my Sonic obsession progressed. I used to be a crazier Sonic fan back then than I am now. Now I stopped reading the comics but I'll always be a Sonic fan. (The comics suck now though so...yeah.)
