I don't think Shadow is immortal

Think about it, Shadow was put in suspended animation for 50 years, but that doesn't mean his body is 50 years old. He is the ultimate "lifeform", which means he could age. It's kind of like Tikal, who has been in the emerald for centuries, but if she returned, she'd still be 14 years old. So I think Shadow works the same. I don't think he's immortal. Discuss.

In the first Team Dark cutscene, Shadow is seen waking up from an activation code, entered by Rogue. And in one of the Team Dark cutscenes, the fallen Shadow robot is seen, broken, at a dead end. Rogue comments "Shadow...?" and the three leave the scene. In the final Team Dark cutscene, Rogue and Omega walk into a room with over 1,000 Shadow robots.

Therefore, Shadow was, is, and always wil be: a robot.

He is not! If you play "Shadow the Hedgehog", you will see at the end that he is a "living being created by Black Doom and Prof. Gerald". Grrr.

I think he's capable of dying, but it's possible that he's ageless. So natural causes and old age won't kill him, but getting blown up, decapitated etc. yeah that'll kill him.

The key word there is "lifeform". He lives, and thusly, he dies. Just like anyone else. Even old age.

Yeah but just because he's a life form doesn't mean he necessarily ages. Of course, he could just age very slowly and have a longer life span. Some species of turtles live for a long time, and I know trees can live for hundreds of years.
So I guess I go along the lines of him being "semi-immortal." Semi immortal means that old age and natural causes won't kill you, but if you get shot, blown up, head cut off etc. then yes you'll die.

aging is basically just your cells and organs breaking down and stopping working
shadow could have a cell designed to counteract this, for a while
and also those robots in sonic heroes are copy's of shadow the hedgehog the LIFE FORM
plus in sonic next gen if you look closely when shadow's in the future just before the fight with mephiles the imprisoned shadow has Grey streaks instead of red showing him aging something impossible for a robot

And that confirms it. Whether or not Sonic 06 happened or not, aging is something Shadow will do guarenteed. Of course that doesn't mean he won't still be an awesome fighter when he gets older.

So he's not immortal then, he just ages very slowly. Sort of like the elves. Although elves are argued to be immortal...but I think they're just slow to age.
