Sonic was gonna be a BUNNY.

Sonic was going to be a lot of things, but the ideas were scrapped. One of them was a prototype picture of Robotnik, although I wouldn't want an evil scientist running around collecting wedding gifts.

Heck, Sonic had a girlfriend (and it wasn't Amy) right before his own game. I think the name was Madonna, but the idea was scrapped... again...


At one point, Sonic had a band with Vector the Crocodile in it, but due to schedule, it was scrapped.

And someone awesome I need to thank found the original Mr. Needlemouse in a sketch of one of the Sonic ideas.


And this person who found this picture, I need to thank too, 'cause Sonic should've kept this look a LONG time ago.

and for the bunny... O_o im really happy they switched to hedgehog.

But the bunny was turned into Ristar. Hooray for lookbacks!

LOL! His girlfriend's name was supposedly Madonna. I'm guessing that girl in the picture must be Sega's rendition of Madonna too. That sucks.

I know. It would be interesting to have a GOOD human girl (besides Maria) to replace Elise... eugh.

huh,humans do can fit into the sonic universe...it would be interesting for a game or conic to have them all as humans.

I did what you said. This is what happens when you Google: "sonic in human form".

It might be a tad off topic, but there was a Sonic game "rip off" that had a rabbit called "Jazz Jackrabbit." Perhaps that's where they got the idea?
Honestly I don't know why they never considered a cheetah. Cheetahs are supposed to be fast. The fastest land animal in fact. I think they can go form 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds.
But personally, I like the new style better, although the one image does look pretty cool. Still everything has to have an origin. Glad they kept the hedgehog, but a Cheetah rival would be awesome. ...yeah I'm such a cat nerd...
